IMPORTANT STUFF

My Promise

Grooming is my passion and most definitely not ‘just a job’. I take great pride in my work and my aim is to make your dog look and feel their best when they leave my salon.

Grooming sessions should be eagerly anticipated and not seen as something to run from! I work to ensure your dogs’ experience is enjoyable, positive, safe and fun. They will be the focus of everything I do while they are in my care. Your dogs’ safety, and gaining the trust of you both, will be at the forefront of everything I do.

Your dog will be groomed at a pace they are comfortable with. I work patiently with nervous dogs to calm, reassure and make them comfortable with the grooming process.

The products I use are professional grade, rigorously researched, tested and widely used by fellow professionals. I would never work with a product that I wouldn’t use on my own pets.

I strongly believe in HUMANITY BEFORE VANITY. As a professional groomer it is my responsibility to work WITH you, the owner, to achieve the look you desire, whilst ensuring your dogs’ comfort, welfare, health and happiness are the priority.

Please be aware, your dog (if he/she wishes) will be cuddled
to within an inch of their life.

Cancellation Charge

Whilst I understand ‘life happens’, missed appointments, or cancellation with less than 24hrs notice, will incur a charge of £10 before I can rebook. Please appreciate I run an appointments system. I will struggle to fill your slot at short notice and therefore suffer financial loss.

Flea Charge

Should your dog be found to be smuggling undesirable passengers into the salon there will be a charge of £5.

This is to cover treatment of the salon.

Late Charge

I groom one-to-one so that the dogs in my care have my undivided attention.

Late drop offs may mean I cannot complete a quality groom in the remaining time and we may have to reschedule.

Late collections have a detrimental effect on bookings for the rest of the day. Therefore, a charge of £5 will be incurred for every 20 minutes over the agreed collection time that dogs are  eagerly waiting for parents to return.

GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION

As part of the Data Protection Act it is now necessary for me to inform you of the information I hold about you and your dog. This includes how it is used, stored, and to obtain your permission to do so.
The information I hold is the information you provide me with when completing the Grooming Contract, usually on your dogs’ first visit to the salon. More specifically;

• Your name
• Your contact telephone number
• Your address
• Your e-mail address (optional)
• Details about your dog and specifics of the groom.

Grooming Contracts are kept in paper format only and are stored in a lockable cupboard to which only I have access. Grooming Contracts of those dogs not seen for a period of three years will be archived and shredded after 7 years (in line with HMRC requirements).

Your name, dogs’ name, and telephone number are stored on my mobile phone which is protected by a pin number and to which only I have access. This is to enable us to communicate regarding your dogs’ appointments and any other grooming related issues.

I DO NOT share any of your details with third parties.

I DO NOT use customers’ e-mail addresses for marketing purposes. Any offers, news and general information will be shared via my Facebook page.

I often take photographs of dogs in the salon. This is mainly to share their lovely faces on The Dog Groomer – St. Ives’ Facebook and Instagram accounts. Of course, if this is something you do not wish me to do please indicate your preference on the GDPR form.

Access to, and copies of your Grooming Contract will be made available upon request.
